OBJECT

The object of the puzzle activity is to correctly identify well-known people, animals, insects and things that are pictured within the puzzle scene.

 

People: Entries in this category may be living or dead, male or female, real or fictional. Occupations may also appear.

 

Animals: Entries in this category may be mammals, birds, fish or reptiles.

 

Insects: Entries in this category may include small, invertebrate animals that are obviously segmented (such as spiders, centipedes or worms) or arthropods with three pairs of legs and wings.

 

Things: Entries in this category are objects that are not alive and items that do not belong in the other categories. This category also includes plants and other elements of nature.

 

HOW TO PLAY

First, assemble the 100-piece puzzle. Second, play the puzzle game. Be sure to have a piece of paper and a pen or pencil handy.

 

The Game:

  1. The oldest player is the Reader and Scorekeeper for the first set of clues. Taking the clue booklet, the Reader announces, ďI am a(n) _____Ē (Person, Animal, Insect or Thing) and reads the first of the 20 clues to the group.
  2. After listening to the clue, the player to the Readerís left (a.k.a. the Guesser) has 10 seconds to guess the Readerís secret identity. (Players may only guess when itís their turn.) If the Guesser guesses correctly, s/he scores one point, which the Reader/Scorekeeper records on a piece of paper. If the Guesser guesses incorrectly, the player to his/her left gets the next clue.
  3. After a player guesses the correct answer, then all players including the Reader take a look at the puzzle image. The first to find the image of the answer within the puzzle scores one point, which the Reader/Scorekeeper records.
  4. After each round of play, the player to the Readerís right becomes the new Reader/Scorekeeper.
